Artist Statement   

" In life a single glimpse is never enough...

I create semi abstract sculpture in wire mesh mixed media and bronze.       My sculptures and reliefs use the human form to express the emotional interaction between individuals; revealing figures entwined together.

Each work starts with one female figure which evolves intuitively into additional images portraying Togetherness. I feel surrounded by people from my life and memories of unforgotten human beings.

Curves of trees suggest to me stories about passion and struggle, embrace and dance; I expose all that in my sculpture, expressing dichotomy through my work.

I see a connection between a woman's strength and softness and the contrasting qualities of the wire mesh- my main sculpting medium. I always start working with wire mesh, even when the finished artwork may eventually be bronze. While the bronzes' entangled structures are solid & multifaceted, the semi transparency of the ethereal wire mesh, allows the viewer to see into and beyond the flowing forms."
